Topso's bio aviation coal technology lands in China for the first time

On April 26th, Hydroflex from Topso Company ™ The production technology of bio aviation kerosene has landed in China for the first time. The company has signed a cooperation agreement with Guangxi Hongkun Biomass Fuel Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangxi Hongkun Energy Co., Ltd., in Nanning regarding the catalyst for the 300000 tons/year bio aviation coal hydrogenation unit process package of the 600000 tons/year bio aviation coal project (Phase I).

According to the agreement, the first phase of the project will use Topso Hydroflex ™ Production process, processing 300000 tons of kitchen waste oil annually, producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and biodiesel (HVO). Topso will provide technical licenses, process package design, technical services, and catalysts for the device. The project will start construction in May 2024 and is expected to be put into operation in early 2026.

This is the first time that Topso has transferred sustainable aviation fuel technology in China, "said Yang Dajun, President of Topso (China). Topso maintains a leading global market share in the field of renewable fuels, with its Hydroflex ™ Technology combines Topso's profound professional accumulation with excellent catalyst products, enabling flexible processing of various raw materials and production of high-quality clean fuels. At present, it has authorized the transfer of over 60 sets of devices worldwide.

Yang Dajun stated that the low-carbon and high-quality development of China's aviation industry in the future requires support from technology, policies, and regulations, as well as joint efforts from all parties. Topso hopes to explore the path of low-carbon and high-quality development with more enterprises like Guangxi Hongkun.

It is reported that the signing ceremony was held during the visit of Thomas Ø strup M ø ller, the Danish Ambassador to China, and Li Shousheng, the President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, to Guangxi. Blue Sky Li, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, cordially met with Ma Lei and his delegation, as well as President Li Shousheng. Ma Lei, Li Shousheng, Qinzhou Port Area Management Committee of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and relevant leaders of Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering Co., Ltd. attended and witnessed the signing.

Ma Lei pointed out during the meeting that China and Denmark have maintained close cooperation in the field of green transformation. This cooperation is also another important milestone for China and Denmark to jointly promote low-carbon development goals. The abundant resources of green energy and biomass in Guangxi, as well as the unique geographical location of Qinzhou Port, have brought tremendous opportunities for the development of Qinzhou and Hongkun in Guangxi.

Li Shousheng emphasized that the Petrochemical Federation has always been very concerned about the green and low-carbon transformation and high-quality development of the entire chemical industry. Topso's advanced bio aviation coal technology is a unique low-carbon solution in this industry chain, and its application in Guangxi has set an example for the industry's development.

During the signing period, Topso Company and Guangxi Hongkun Energy Co., Ltd. also signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation on the production of biofuels from green methanol, green ammonia, and biomass solid waste.
